House of Blues
Los Angeles, CA
March 16, 2012
It’s official: there is not a large club (see: The Tabernacle in Atlanta, The Pageant in St. Louis or The Brooklyn Bowl in New York) in any section in the country that the Umphrey’s McGee bus can wheel into without being met with a packed house.
On this night (the first of a two night run), the Chicago based sextet rolled into Southern California to unleash their sound on the legion of fans that had filled the city’s House of Blues, Sunset Strip, for a dose of the band’s unique brand of improvisation riddled rock and roll.
Honest Tune’s Los Angeles based photographer, Tim Wheaton, was on the scene and brought back an astounding amount of images. We attempted to cut them down, but as you will see, what remains in these photos is pure magic and cutting any more out would have simply been a disservice. Plus, since this is the wonderful world of the interweb, it isn’t like we have an ink budget or printing costs to lose sleep over.
