The Giving Tree Band announce fall tour

The Giving Tree Band are thrilled to be back on the road. They’re out on a fall tour celebrating and promoting the recent release of their latest record The Joke, The Threat & The Obvious (Crooked Creek Records). Labeled a band "On The Verge" by Relix Magazine, they praised the new album, writing that its "espirit de corps shines through. From up-tempo jigs ("Red Leaves," "Caged Lion," "Eventually") to slower ballads ("Which One," "Circles," "Sometimes Things Must Fall"), the folksy bliss is the sound of a group playing as one." Elswhere they were flattered to be dubbed "the American answer to Mumford & Sons," by Metromix, a band they have great admiration for.

The Giving Tree Band have continued to gain notice for their environmentally conscious practices as well. They were recently profiled in the Huffington Post for their "genuine and sincere" commitment to sustainability. After a summer filled with highlights including performances at Wakarusa, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, and The Kennedy Center, The Giving Tree Band continue to travel the country bringing good music and sustainable practices along the way.  Their current tour already under way takes them to the west coast this October before returning home to Chicago for shows in November and an appearance at the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues festival in early December.
