The city of Atlanta is in for a weekend of smokin’ music as the annual Sweet Water Brewing Company 420Fest is headed for their way once again with such stellar acts as the mighty Snoop Dogg, 311, The Thievery Corporation, Primus, moe., Beats Antique and many more. With everything from Rap to soul, funk, folk, bluegrass and good ol’ rock and roll, there’s something for everyone, and a wonderful chance to be exposed to new sounds and styles for all to enjoy. Heck, they even booked a psychedelic marching band, so you know they mean business when it comes to diversity!
There’s a lot more to the festival experience than just music, in case you find yourself wanting to rest your dancing shoes for a few minutes. A comedy tent will feature a number of nationally known stand ups and a silent disco will let those who just want to dance get their groove on. Since the festival is brought to us by the Sweet Water Brewing Company, expect a number of stellar panels and informative interactive installations to help folks understand the brewing process, and, of course…BEER! There are even a number of festival only experimental creations concocted by the artisans at their brewery.
Utilizing Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park, the festival has gotten into the competitive spirit and even has it’s own 5K race on April 18th! Details HERE. A wide variety of food and art vendors will be on hand, to feed the body and soul. This is a city fest, so there’s no onsite camping, but you’re in one of the jewels of the south, and Atlanta is never short of rooms, restaurants and cool stuff to see before and after the shows. So come on down and get the summer started right with a little fun in the hazey sun at the 420 Fest!
