About her time in Mississippi, Mary Catherine says, “So many amazingly talented writers and musicians are Mississippians. You’ve got William Faulker and Eudora Welty. You’ve got B.B. and Albert King, Muddy Waters, Sam Cooke, Robert Johnson, and Willie Dixon. If you get a chance, go to Rosedale, Greenwood, Vicksburg, and Clarksdale, and visit the monuments and museums dedicated to these people. Luther Dickinson is from Mississippi, and so is George McConnell. It’s a cradle of creativity. It’s also haunted. ”
