Pink Floyd keyboard player and founder dead at 65

The family of Richard Wright, founding member of Pink Floyd, have announced that Wright died today after a short struggle with cancer.  He was 65.  The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

Wright was best known for his deeply textured keyboard parts, and occasional lead vocals, including "Time" and "Echoes".  Though not as prolific a songwriter as some of the other members of the band, his contributions include the Floyd classics "Great Gig in the Sky" and "Us and Them" among others.
