Outformation to play cancer benefit, host auction for friend

A close friend of Outformation, 26-year-old semi-pro whitewater kayaker and middle school spanish teacher Katie Hilleke, was recently diagnosed with class 3 colon cancer and the band has announced it will play a benefit show to help pay for her medical bills.

To help raise money, there will be a silent rock and roll memorabilia auction at the benefit.  Percussionist Jeff "Birddog" Lane will be auctioning off one of his most prized framed autographed WSP photos from '01. They will also be auctioning off paintings by Scramble Campbell and John Bukaty, and much more…

The benefit is currently accepting donations to help raise money for the auction. If you would like to make a donation to the action, please contact Andrea Craven at andreac@tsunamipublicity.com

The band says "It's going to be a great night of music, and hopefully we can raise enough money to help Katie get well. We know Katie and her family will greatly appreciate all of our efforts to help her fight colon cancer.  A big thanks to everyone in advance. Hope to see ya'll there."

To make donations to Katie you can go to any Wachovia Bank branch and tell them you would like to make a donation to the Katie Hilleke Assistance Fund.
