Montana Skies : Live from the Mable Barnes Ampitheatre

montana_skies_live.jpgA remarkable take on modern alternative music via flamenco and classical string instrumentation, the Adams duo – aka Montana Skies- revels in the spotlight on their first DVD/CD combo, Live from the Mable Barnes Amphitheatre.

Montana Skies is Jennifer and Jonathan Adams, with Jennifer holding down the bottom end on cello and six string electric cello. Jonathan adds spunk and spice to his varied improvised mastery of classical and steel guitars. On DVD, the pair is quite a sight to behold, as they navigate the twists and turns of the traditionally arranged "Malaguena" and "Gringo Flamenco." An unrecognizable treatment of Mason Williams’ "Classical Gas" pays dividends, as does the unusual covers of Pink Floyd’s "Another Brick in the Wall" and the Animals’ "House of the Rising Sun." Better yet are the showstoppers "Montana Skies/Vivaldi Sonata in EM/Beatles’ Eleanor Rigby" medley, and the Gershwin masterpiece "Summertime."

Elegantly filmed on August 16, 2008, Live from the Mable Barnes Amphitheatre presents the wide reaching and classically rocking duo Montana Skies in their native environment, the stage, with wondrous eclecticism and dynamic sound.
