Les Claypool & Matisyahu
June 4, 2009
Few artists have made a succesful fanbase jump like Les Claypool has; he went from frontman of the heavier alt/rock act Primus to jamband favorite. He brought his new act through Memphis on June 4 with Hasidic reggae star Matisyahu as co-headliner.
It was a solid show, as both acts sufficiently provided the creative spark they’re known for: Matisyahu spat rapid-fire lyrics in both English and Hebrew, and Claypool delivered his quirky, thumping brand of music.
