Keller Williams to completely release ODD

Everyone’s favorite one-man-band, Keller Williams, is preparing to officially release his new studio album, ODD, on August 12, 2009. He’s spent the last 12 weeks releasing the songs track by track through his brand new, fan-oriented download feature, ‘The Once A Week Freek’. Now, full digital copies and physical copies of ODD are available for purchase at and at Keller’s live shows.

On Keller Williams’ previous albums, you can never predict what his next move will be…and ODD is certainly no different. Over the course of twelve songs, Keller covers an impressive amount of stylistic ground – everything from the ‘off-the-wall’ ("Day at the Office") to piano-based lounge music ("Warning"), and even a tribute to legendary afrobeat musician Fela Kuti ("Song for Fela"). And somehow, the singer/multi-instrumentalist ties it all together into a unified sound/approach – that is unmistakably Keller.

Funky, acoustic, and electronic are not three musical descriptions that you often see mentioned together, but Keller Williams incorporates all three into his signature style. Case in point, ODD’s album opener, "Environmental Song." And while Keller certainly has a knack for lyrics that don’t take themselves too seriously ("Doobie in My Pocket"), the aforementioned track tackles the subject of mortality – head on. Keller’s percussive style of attacking the acoustic guitar – which is showcased on "Elephorse" – will certainly catch the ear of many fellow musicians, as well. From start to finish, ODD is 100% pure, vintage Keller Williams.

Long considered one of the most unique and prolific performers in all of rock, the Fredericksburg, Virginia native is known for flying by the seat of his pants on stage, utilizing an unorthodox approach that centers around an Echoplex Digital Pro looping unit, which allows Keller to alternate between several instruments on stage.
