John Butler Trio announces fall tour

ATO Records is excited to announce the John Butler Trio’s fall 2010 tour. The dates kick off November 9th with four shows with Dave Matthews Band at the TD Garden in Boston and Madison Square Garden in New York City. It continues on through the United States and Canada ending in December 3rd at the Fox Theatre in the San Francisco Bay Area.

John Butler Trio continue to tour in support of the recently released album April Uprising. The album has been praised by Rolling Stone for its "Melody, Subtlety, Authenticity, and Sophistication", while Paste declared it time for Australia’s "gifted gutarist John Butler Trio’s star to ascend in the United States." April UprisingStraddling blues and bluegrass," writes Billboard, "the trio delivers an eclectic mix, lending a Southern-rock feel on the track ‘Don’t Wanna See Your Face,’ a Celtic flair to its haunting ‘Ragged Mile’ and even featuring steel pans on ‘Take Me.’" Alternately the song "One Way Road" is described as a "tire-swing summer rock cut with a shot of bluegrass and a little bit of California sunshine."  American Songwriter noted that the album showcases "a newfound maturity for an artist that might just be finally finding his stride." manages to bring a variety of influences to the table "

Upon its release, April Uprising saw the band’s highest Billboard chart debut in its US history. The Australian musician and group are reaching new heights with American audiences, playing to rapturous crowds across the country this summer, including sold out shows at  Red Rocks and NYC Summer Stage in Central Park. They also continue to make their mark on the AAA radio charts. Their current single "I’d Do Anything" has just impacted radio to a great response.
