Time flies when you’re having fun, but for fans of the jam world’s claim to mainstream fame, Dave Matthews Band, recent times haven’t exactly been the stuff the stuff that “Ants Marching” is made of.

For many, it seems like it was just yesterday when Dave Matthews announced an undetermined hiatus, but last Tuesday night, it was fully evident that ATL Dave fans were in need of a good quenching from their beloved front man and his band of the original 3 – Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard and Boyd Tinsley — plus guitarist Tim Reynolds, trumpeter Rashawn Ross and sax man Jeff Coffin.

With a set that covered most era bases, from Under the Table & Dreaming‘s “Ants Marching” and “Jimi Thing” to Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King‘s “Squirm,” “Shake Me Like a Monkey” and others, the only album that wasn’t represented was 2001’s Everyday.

It is safe to say that the dancing and glowing fans did not seem to mind the album’s absence. They were simply happy to have received a good old fashioned Atlanta dose of Dave Matthews Band.
