ALO summer tour, dates with Jack Johnson

California quartet ALO head out on the road this summer to promote their new album Man of the World. The band will headline clubs throughout the east coast in May and perform throughout the summer at popular music festivals including Mile High Music Festival, The Hangout Music Festival, Summercamp, Mountain Jam and Wakarusa. In July and August, the band will join Jack Johnson as the opening act on his To The Sea U.S. tour.

ALO just completed the video for their new single “Big Appetite” from Man of the World. The video, directed Jay Blakesberg, uses stop motion crafted from over 22,000 still photographs of the band. The final result can be viewed here:

It’s fitting that ALO will join Jack Johnson on the road. For their Brushfire Records release Man of The World, the band enlisted Johnson to produce the album and recorded it at his solar-powered studio in Hawaii. "Under a pile of dancing notes, island textures and organ-heavy pop" sums up The OC Weekly, "the four-piece deliver a groove-oriented grab bag of summertime tunes, painted with shimmering steel guitar, congas and the occasional vocals by Johnson." Man of The World "sounds more uniquely ALO than anything to come before" says Relix Magazine.

Fans of ALO’s studio albums won’t want to miss their "legendary live shows" (Philadelphia Daily News). At a recent performance at San Francisco’s Fillmore Theater, the San Francisco Weekly observed "[ALO] played hopeful songs of love, social observation, and good ol’ joie de vivre to an audience that couldn’t stand still."

Tickets for ALO’s May tour and summer music festival dates are currently available. Tickets for the To The Sea tour will go on sale to the public on April 10th.
